Jeff Scholnick and Tom Hood founded Hood & Scholnick in 2003. Mr. Scholnick's practice focuses on litigation primarily in the areas of torts, personal, workers' compensation, social security disability, criminal, traffic, drunk driving, contract disputes, and bankruptcy. He has been representing Plaintiffs, the disabled and injured workers for more than 20 years.
Mr. Scholnick graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and from the Maryland School of Law. He is admitted to practice in State and Federal Courts in Maryland, and is also a member of the District of Columbia bar. He is originally from Brooklyn, New York.
Mr. Scholnick is a member of the following Bar Associations and legal organizations: Maryland and District of Columbia; Maryland Association for Justice; Maryland Criminal Defense Association; Baltimore County Bar Association; Maryland Bankruptcy Bar Association Court; American Trial Lawyers and the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives. He is a longstanding member of the Baltimore County Bar Association Lawyer Referral Committee. He is a member of the Board of Har Sinai Congregation where he has taught Sunday School.
Mr. Scholnick has spoken at Seminars on Workers' Compensation, Social Security Disability and on starting, building and marketing a Law Firm. He has testified before the Maryland Legislature on Workers' Compensation laws and he has been featured in the Maryland State Bar Association Monthly Journal and Towson Times. He also writes frequently for the Baltimore County Bar Association, monthly journal, The Advocate. Two of his recent Advocate articles have been featured on the Website for the Baltimore County Sitting Judges Election campaign.
