Mr. Hood's practice is a trial practice. He represents the victims in cases involving medical malpractice, automobile accidents, workers' compensation and social security disability. Mr. Hood also represents employees in Labor cases and businesses of all sizes in business litigation. On the criminal defense side, he defends the accused in all felony and misdemeanors, in State and Federal Court. He also regularly appears on behalf of those charged with driving under the influence and other serious traffic offenses. He has been in practice for over twenty-four (24) years.
Mr. Hood graduated cum laude from Towson State University. He also graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law, with honor. He is admitted to practice in the State of Maryland, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Mr. Hood is a member of the Baltimore County Bar Association, the Maryland State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He is also a member of the Maryland Trial Lawyers Association and the Maryland Criminal Defense Attorneys Association. For several years he has been a regular contributor and guest editor of The Advocate, a Baltimore County Bar Association publication. This coming year he will be Assistant Editor.
Mr. Hood has represented the families of those who have been tragically killed in wrongful death cases and many people who have suffered catastrophic injuries. He has recovered millions of dollars in compensation for his clients. He is regularly involved in serious medical malpractice and negligence claims. He has tried jury trials in Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Carroll County, Cecil County, Frederick County, Harford County, Howard County, Montgomery County, Prince George's County and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.
Mr. Hood is a member of the Criminal Justice Act Misdemeanor Panel for the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. Through this panel, he is appointed by the Court to represent those charged with serious traffic offenses and misdemeanor crimes. He is also regularly appointed by the Circuit Court for Baltimore County to represent disabled persons in guardianship proceedings. He has also provided his services pro bono through the Maryland Volunteer Lawyer's Service on several occasions.
